Yasmine Merei was born in Homs, Syria, in 1984. She studied Arabic Literature, Comparative Linguistics and Middle Eastern Studies. She worked in printed and digital media and specialized in feminist journalism. She is currently managing the Women for Common Spaces Organization in Berlin, which is creating a female memory on seeking refuge and building the capacities of young woman who are politically and culturally active in the Syrian diaspora.
