Ahmed Ramadan, born in 1988, grew up in Syria and studied at the University of Fine Arts Damascus and Berlin. Experiencing a short detention at the Syrian regime’s secret services was a turning point in Ramadan’s life. Violence, the loss of homeland, exodus and destruction are the main topics of his art, where different levels of his feelings and the real world merge into each other. In 2018, he received the Diffring Award for Sculpture.
