On Friday 20.04.2018, the Goethe-Institut Belgium in Brussels hosted a conference day under the title "Syria: Renewal, Creativity and Resilience". There, coculture, in the figure of Khaled Barakeh, has participated as speaker at one of the round tables with cultural leaders. How can arts and culture contribute to the desired positive change in Syria ? to equity? to achieving justice? to the aspired freedoms and to Dignity? and how can we as a Syrian Cultural community work to embrace a new cultural narrative that stimulates a new economic interest in Syria based on the richness and diversity of its people’s cultures, and on its creative industries and powers.
A Syrian cultural think tank who met in the morning then shared their views on these issues discussed in the closed session with the public in Brussels.
