Since its beginning, coculture participated in the annual Salzburg Global Seminar. In 2021, Salzburg Global Seminar launched The Creative Power of the Arts: Reimagining Human and Planetary Flourishing, bringing together an interdisciplinary and intergenerational group of 90 creative practitioners, researchers, and policymakers from over 30 countries. The program responded to the compounded crises of the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and structural injustices, recognizing the urgent need to rethink societal structures and integrate the arts and culture sector into decision-making processes.

Throughout a series of discussions, we identified common structural challenges that hindered transformative change, regardless of the specific focus area. These insights shaped the next phase of the program, which culminated in a joint convening of all participants and an in-person Collaboratory meeting in Salzburg.

Final Report

The result of the conference was collected in a report. The final report of the program captures the key findings and reflections from these sessions, highlighting the shared obstacles, opportunities for collaboration, and strategies for integrating creative approaches into broader societal reforms.
